If this sounds like you

You built the life. Now build the health to live it.

  • You've been told everything looks normal. But you know that's not the same as healthy. You want certainty, not reassurance.
  • You handle it for everyone else. Why are you last on your own list?Your turn is overdue.
  • A diagnosis or a death close to you changed how you think. The stakes are different now.
  • You finally have the time you worked for.You want the strength to use it.

Or it is not you at all. It is your mother or your father, and no one seems to be in charge of their care. You have become the coordinator, and you never applied for the job.

This is not for people looking for a pill and a portal. I work with people who want a partner in their health and will do their part. If that is you, keep reading.

The status quo

The system is broken.

Twelve rushed minutes with a doctor watching the screen, not you. A typical primary care panel runs past two thousand patients. Yours doesn't have time to know you.

You message the portal about something that is worrying you. Days later, a stranger replies.

“Your labs are normal. See you next year.” The system is good at treating disease, but if you want to improve your health, it has nothing to offer. It doesn't even have a definition of health.

A bill for every visit, a charge for every test, and no idea what anything costs until it arrives.

That list is why this practice exists.

Unhurried time, my direct number, health as the actual goal, and every price stated up front.

What you get with me

It all comes from one thing:a doctor who actually knows you.

I built this practice on one rule: nothing about your health gets delegated. Not the phone. Not the blood draw. Not the thinking.

  • A board-certified family physician who actually knows you
  • North Carolina's only fully certified Health Optimization Medicine physician
  • Helms-certified medical acupuncture, in your home
  • House calls across the Charlotte area
  • I answer my own phone, including at night
  • I collect your specimens and interpret your testing myself
  • When a specialist appointment matters, I go with you
  • Labs and supplements at cost, delivered, with no markup ever

Some practices offer one or two of these. No one offers all of them, because no one can. That is what fifty patients instead of two thousand makes possible.

Meet the Physician

Third-generation physician. First to practice this way.

Dr. Daniel Tagge reviewing lab results with a patient at their kitchen table

Hi. I’m Daniel Tagge, a husband and father. I trained at MUSC, completed my residency at Carolinas Medical Center, and spent years inside the conventional system treating illness.

What I could not get used to was never having the time to build a relationship, or to have the conversation that would have actually helped. People arrived suffering and left with a pill or a referral, because in twelve minutes that is what there is to give.

So I left, to build the practice I believe medicine has to become: measured to the molecule, enabled by the best technology, and deliberately human.

“The work he does is a different category of medicine. If you're tired of being told everything looks fine, or you know your health could be better, start here.”

My practice

Three ways to start.

Every one of them happens where medicine should: face to face, unhurried, in your world.

Where longevity medicine fits in

Disease doesn’t start as disease. It starts as physics and chemistry.

Longevity has become a buzzword, so here is what I mean by it. Healthspan is the goal. Longevity is what follows. Every chronic disease moves through the same three stages, and the whole discipline is working at stage one, while the problem is still chemistry and still reversible, before it has earned a name.

01

Metabolism

Before they are called disease, imbalance starts here: hormones drifting, nutrients depleting, inflammation smoldering. You feel it as fatigue, fog, and weight that won't move. Most labs still read “normal.” This is why I use metabolomics.

Where I work

02

Damage

Left alone, imbalance does structural work: arteries stiffen, muscle and bone thin, mitochondria fall behind, cells stop clearing what they should. No name for it yet, and nothing on a standard panel. Still largely reversible, if anyone is looking.

Where I work

03

Pathology

Now it has a name: insulin resistance, then diabetes. Plaque, then a heart attack. This is where insurance medicine finally begins, decades after the chemistry went wrong.

Where insurance medicine begins

Medicine has no definition of health. No framework for it, and no method for producing it.I built my practice on all three.

Health is a measurable state, not the absence of a diagnosis. I measure it with blood work, metabolomics and gut testing, correct what is drifting, and measure again to prove it moved.

Three steps

How this starts.

01

A 15-minute call

You talk with me, not a scheduler. I learn what is going on, you learn how I work, and I tell you honestly whether this practice fits what you need. Fit runs both ways here.

02

The first visit, in your home

History, exam, and the conversation your health has been missing. However you start, membership, Deep Dive, or acupuncture, the first real step happens at your kitchen table, not in a waiting room.

03

You decide with the full picture

No pressure and no expiring quote. You will know what I found, what I recommend, and what it costs. Whatever you choose, the plan we build is yours.

Prefer to start with a conversation? Talk to me first.

My promise to you

No markup on anything I order.

Labs and prescriptions at my cost, invoices visible. Wholesale discounts pass to you.

You should never have to wonder whether a recommendation is medicine or margin. That is why I take none.

— Daniel Tagge, MD

I practice as a health fiduciary: I never profit from what I order, so you know every recommendation is for your health alone. My fee is for my time, attention and access. Testing already performed isn’t refundable.

A practice that stays small.

I go deep with every patient, and one physician can only do that for so many people. This practice is capped at 50 patients, and it is early, which means most of those fifty places are still open. Every new patient I take on is a promise to the people already in my care. Memberships are released in small groups, and when they are taken, the waitlist opens. I will tell you honestly how long it is.

Your rate is locked. And you are never trapped.

The rate you join at is the rate you keep for as long as you remain a member. In your first 60 days, if this is not the most thorough medical care you have ever received, tell me and I will refund your membership fee in full. After that, you may leave at any time and receive back every unused month. I call it the Fire Your Doctor Guarantee, because you should always be free to.

In their words

What patients say when no one is selling them anything.

Dr Tagge was fantastic. He was approachable and professional, answering questions and outlining a plan- all while truly, actively listening. I didn't expect the level of care that he provided, but I'm confident in his assessment and the plan we have moving forward towards better health!

Questions

Common questions.

It's an information-only call, a chance for us to meet. Complimentary. You'll learn how I practice and which level of care actually fits you, and you're welcome to tell me what's going on with your health; I'll listen. If I can't serve your needs, I'll say so and refer you where I think is best.

The horizon

However much life you have left, spend it at full strength.

Whether you are forty and want to stay ahead of it, or seventy and want the next twenty years to be good ones, the picture is the same: energy that lasts the day, numbers trending the right way, and a doctor who answers when you call. Some things shift in weeks and the deeper work takes years. The only version that fails is the one that starts too late.
